Dunadry Inn sold to the McKeever Group
The McKeever family, which owns four hotels in Northern Ireland and Co. Donegal, has just bought The Dunadry Inn at Templepatrick for an undisclosed sum.
The addition of the 80-bedroom hotel with health, leisure and spa facilities now brings the company’s hotel portfolio to five. It already owns and operates Corrs Corner Hotel, Newtownabbey; Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim; the Adair Arms Hotel, Ballymena and Dillons Hotel in Letterkenny.
The McKeevers bought the hotel from The Mooney Group, which has owned it since 1986/
Eugene McKeever MBE, managing director of the McKeever Hotel Group says the new acquisition is “a great fit” and that, given the buoyancy of the tourism sector, he was delighted to see it join the family’s group:
“At the core of our business is our family ethos to provide consistent quality and service to our guests,” he said recently. “We know our market well and we are constantly investing and reinvesting in the business to ensure we meet the needs of our customers. We will continue to work hard and provide the high level of comfort and tradition that is expected in all of our hotels.
“Our hotels are very much at the heart of the local communities in which we operate. As such we will continue to meet the demands and requirements of the local patrons of the Dunadry Hotel and it will be very much business as usual. Current bookings will not be affected and all employees will be retained. We are very much looking forward to working with the staff of the Dunadry Hotel and welcoming new customers as well as looking after the regular customers too.”
The McKeever Hotel Group has been trading for almost 25 years. It has plans to grow its accommodation, conferencing and banqueting business and it says that it will be specifically targeting the tourist and corporate markets.
In a statement, the Mooney Group confirmed the sale, which it said was agreed after an approach and a good purchase offer:
“We are also pleased that the McKeever Hotel Group has a similar family ethos and will continue to invest and re-invest in their properties. We have no doubt the Dunadry Hotel is now in safe hands,” it added.
