Percy French takes Best in Ulster title

THE Percy French in Newcastle is celebrating being top of the leaderboard after it was named the Best Golfers Restaurant in Ulster at the 2017 Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards.

The awards, which took place in Carton House Hotel in Co Kildare, recognise leadership roles played by individual Irish golf clubs and associated Irish golf interests in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  An all-Ireland poll, undertaken from within the golfing community, decided the winners and the Percy French beat off stiff competition to be named the best in Ulster.

The Percy French, located on the grounds of the four-star Slieve Donard Resort & Spa and next door to the prestigious Royal County Down Golf Club, is a favourite of golfers from around the world.

Stephen Meldrum General Manager of the Slieve Donard Resort & Spa said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award for the second time. The Percy French is a firm favourite with golfers to enjoy a meal and a few drinks after a day on the course. The team at the Percy French prides itself on offering the very best seasonal menus using the very finest local produce which is complemented by a top notch dining experience, so I am delighted it has been recognised with this prestigious award.”
