Titanic Quarter welcomes a new restaurant

A new restaurant has opened its doors in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, creating 10 new jobs.

Rain Check, which is in Arc Retail, is owned by Andrew Davison and Graham Johnston, who already have a presence in the complex through their joint ownership of a neighbouring Spar store.

Both units represent an investment of around £800,000 by the pair.

The new 42-seat venue offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus along with magnificent views of the Abercorn Basin and the vibrant Waterfront Walkway.

Late last year Andrew and Graham doubled the size of their existing Spar store to 7,000 sq ft, offering the very latest innovations in convenience retailing.

James Eyre, commercial director at Titanic Quarter, recently wished Graham and Andrew all the best for their new restaurant venture:

“Titanic Quarter’s growing number of residents, workers, students and tourists have made the ARC Retail a destination of choice and we will see further retail businesses opening here in the very near future,” she added.

Graham Johnston said that he and Andrew decided to open Rain Check in the ARC Retail building because of the success they have enjoyed there over the last four years with their Spar store:

“We embraced the opportunity to diversify our offer even further with our restaurant, Rain Check, providing a delicious and varied menu, a relaxed atmosphere and great waterfront views,” he added.

“Our chef is Caribbean, so we have a real mix of local and international dishes. We offer a wide range of gluten-free and vegan options catering for all dietary requirements. We have been delighted with the support we have received from our customers in our opening week and online reviews have also been fantastic.”
